Vaughan ON, Wednesday 15th May 2013
The Ontario Soccer Association has selected E2E Soccer to provide an online management solution for the Ontario Cup, one of Canada's oldest and most prestigious annual sporting competitions.
The Ontario Cup solution will be an integrated system using E2E Soccer's League Centre and Ref Centre products. The system will be the primary source for Ontario Cup schedules and results for the 2013 competition.
As well as providing operational efficiencies, the solution will allow The Ontario Soccer Association to offer an improved service to the coaches, players and game officials participating in the Ontario Cup. Services offered will include:
- Improved scheduling communication
- A faster results service
- Site information for tournaments
- Google maps to fields
- News stories on the Ontario Cup
- Referee assignment
"Scheduling a high quality 1,000 game tournament across Ontario is an extremely challenging task." said OSA Director for Competitions and Events Robyn McComb, "I believe that E2E Soccer has the expertise to help us improve efficiency and to communicate information to our teams and clubs quickly and in a user friendly manner."
The Ontario Cup was first played as a senior men's tournament in 1901, making it one of the oldest active sporting competitions in Canada. It has been held every year since, with the exception of the years covering the First and Second World Wars.
Each year approximately 10 000 athletes in over 500 teams participate in the Ontario Cup in age groups ranging from under 13 to over 35.
Commenting on the agreement with The Ontario Soccer Association, Tim Baigent, CEO of E2E Soccer said, "We are delighted and honoured to be giver the opportunity to demonstrate our expertise on one of Canada's premium sporting competitions and we look forward to expanding our role with the Ontario Soccer Association."
